I learned kathak from Sonia at the Midlands Arts Centre over 10 years ago, and worked in one of her ‘conversational’ choreographic groups at the time (we did a piece exploring the universe). Sonia has inspired the way I think about dance and movement and I am delighted that she’ll be coming to my new home in Oxford to share Kathakbox with us. It looks to be a very exciting production and Thursday can’t come soon enough. x

Really enjoyed the show at the Courtyard Theatre last night-so much energy and inventiveness. I’ve always admired the intricacy of asian music and dance and combined with the energy of the hip-hop street dancing it was a vibrant mix that captured the essence and best of multi-cultural aspiration.
I know my son Jack in the Hereford performing arts students pre-show workshop performance, would have packed a bag and joined you on tour there and then he was buzzing so much.
Hope to get some of our special school students to come and see a show in the West Midlands in the autumn.
